Today marks the anniversary of the death of Capt Noel Chavasse, VC & Bar, MC (9 Nov 1884 – 4 Aug 1917) RAMC.
One of only three people to be awarded a Victoria Cross twice, he was an army doctor who valued the care and wellbeing of his men, and who gave his life rescuing and caring for others on the battlefields of World War One.
His memory lives on through Prof Tim Briggs’ CBE FRCS Chavasse Report.
