VCHA chair and national lead Prof Tim Briggs CBE has been appointed an Honorary Colonel of 202 Midlands Field Hospital RAMC.

Col Briggs received his insignia from Deputy Lieutenant Major Sylvia Parkin TD JP MBE and the Commanding Officer of 202 Midlands Field Hospital RMAC, Colonel Clare Dutton MBE during the VCHA’s best practice symposium in Birmingham on Wednesday 28 Sep 2022.

He said: “This is a tremendous honour, which is reflective of the hard work conducted by my team and the organisations that are already Veteran Aware accredited, and I shall wear it with pride. 

“I feel strongly that we need to make sure that the armed forces community, whether they be serving, veterans, reservists or families, should be treated fairly and are not disadvantaged in the care they receive for the service they have delivered to the nation.”
