The Veterans Covenant Healthcare Alliance (VCHA) is holding its annual conference on Wednesday, 20 September at The Barbican Centre in Silk Street, London.

The theme for this year is “joining the dots”, presenting a space that encourages collaboration, ingenuity, and creative thinking that helps to improve Armed Forces community healthcare, whilst simultaneously raising standards for all.

Confirmed speakers will include:

  • Mr Johnny Mercer MP, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs
  • Kate Davies, CBE, Director of Health and Justice, Armed Forces and Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs) for NHS England
  • Professor Tim Briggs CBE, Chair and National Lead for the Veterans Covenant Healthcare Alliance (VCHA) and Clinical Improvements and Recovery for NHS England
  • Colonel David Richmond CBE – Independent Veterans Advisor to UK Government Ministers at Cabinet Office.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided on the day.

The VCHA is a group of NHS ‘Veteran Aware’ accredited provider organisations in England committed to providing the best standards of care for the Armed Forces Community (veterans, reservists and their families) based upon the principles in the Armed Forces Covenant.

The VCHA programme goes from strength to strength and membership now stands at 70% of NHS Trusts.

In addition, the team as directed by the Government’s “bold” commitments in the Veterans Strategy Action Plan 2022 – 2024, have begun widening the scope to include Independent Healthcare Providers and Hospices.
