The Veterans Covenant Healthcare Alliance (VCHA) has been shortlisted for an English Veterans Award for its work in improving health and wellbeing.
Its submitted bid was on behalf of the now 76% of NHS “Veteran Aware accredited Trusts”, which it described in its application as being “unwaveringly committed to promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of the Armed Forces community”.
Prof Tim Briggs CBE, National Chair of the VCHA, said: “To be shortlisted is a wonderful achievement and indicates how far we have come since we began the process of Veteran Aware accreditation across NHS England. “I’d also like to thank my team and all our trusts for their hard work and dedication in driving this programme forward, during continued operational challenges. “We continue to build on these foundations, making sure this continuous improvement programme provides a lasting legacy for our military community, who deserve our continued gratitude for what they do for our nation.”
